Yoga Nidra (w/ Veterans Yoga Project)
Service Description
Yoga Nidra, often translated as "yogic sleep," is a guided meditation practice that cultivates deep rest while remaining aware. The practice invites a systematic rotation of consciousness throughout the body, integrating awareness of breath, sensations, emotions, and thoughts to support self-observation without judgment. Yoga Nidra can be experienced in a variety of comfortable positions—including lying down, seated, or supported in a chair—with participants encouraged to choose the option that best meets their needs. Through curiosity, choice, and present-moment awareness, the practice creates space for restoration, resilience, and a greater sense of ease. More specifically, Yoga Nidra is a research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system, and develops a deep capacity to meet any and all circumstances you may encounter in life. It effectively reduces symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, chronic pain, and chemical dependency. NO yoga experience necessary. This FREE class is offered in partnership with Veterans Yoga Project. To participate, you must create a free Wellness Living account to access classes and register for sessions.
